Bermagui Public School Update 23 March 2020

UPDATE FROM BERMAGUI PUBLIC SCHOOL

Update from Bermagui Public School

I have listened to the latest broadcast and met with our teaching staff this afternoon. Here is the latest information:
• The Premier has recommended that parents keep their children at home if possible;
• NSW Schools will remain in operation;
• Essential services / parents working in these areas can send their children to school to allow them to attend work;
• The school will provide learning from home for students to work on whilst at home;
• Children attending school will work on the same learning activities, however, class structures will more than likely be flexible depending on numbers.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR BERMAGUI PUBLIC SCHOOL FAMILIES:
• The school will provide learning from home for all children to work on at home;
• Each stage will design the learning from home for children to do on a weekly basis;
• These are being designed to be available electronically or as a hardcopy, depending on individual circumstances.
• We anticipate that students will use their student emails to communicate with teachers. The initial communication will also be sent to parent’s emails (this will give you information about student emails and passwords).
• Please contact the school on bermagui-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au if you need to update your email address. You may also email the class teacher.
• We anticipate that we will have work ready for students by Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. We will also have packs available at this time if parents wish to pick them up. We will communicate this through our normal channels of communication.
We will attempt to support all families during these unique circumstances. We thank the community for your anticipated understanding as we navigate through these unprecedented times.
Mr Constable
